Aamir Khan's PK controversy and link with Sri Sri Ravi Shankar
Mumbai, Jan 8: Spiritual leader Sri Sri Ravi Shankar's name too has
come up in the controversy involving Aamir Khan's movie 'PK'. Many
raised questions regarding filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani's decision of
expressing his gratitude towards Sri Sri in the film's opening credits.
Hirani's decision surprised many as his movie stirred controversy
questioning people's blind faith in godmen. When asked as to why he has
thanked the spiritual leader in his film's credits, the filmmaker said
he's "only against fake gurus". Here it can be mentioned that a
significant portions of the film have been shot at his Art of Living
Foundation ashram in Bengaluru.
PK controversy and link with Sri Sri
The director of the controversial movie has been quoted as saying, "I'm
being asked that if I'm against religious gurus, why I have expressed
gratitude to Sri Sri Ravi Shankar in the film titles. My answer is that
I'm not against religious gurus. I'm only against fake gurus."
Continuing his statement, Hirani also added, "Sri Sri Ravi Shankar is a
courageous man. He gave me the location to shoot, knowing well that this
is a film on god and fake godmen. He is beyond pettiness of religion.
He can see the larger picture. I admire his work and have tremendous
respect for him. We will be showing him the film soon."
Earlier on Wednesday, Jan 7, Delhi High Court said there was nothing
offensive in the film 'PK' and there was no substance in allegations
that it has defamed and maligned Hindu culture and religious practices.
Why Aishwarya loves RED LIPS!
“Red lips exude power. Women are excited with the idea of wearing this vibrant red colour,” Aishwarya Rai Bachchan said while showing off her own red lips at a promotional event for L'Oreal Paris and its new range Collection Star Pure Reds Lipsticks in Mumbai.“I have been wearing lots of red throughout the year, be it Cannes or my birthday. I enjoy the entire palette.
“Red works brilliantly with Indian wear but I chose to try it with casual and formal wear.
“You wear this lovely strong lip colour and you don’t need to accessorise,” Aishwarya added.
As a former Miss World, she was asked what she thought of the decision to do away with the swimsuit round in the beauty pageant.
"After my pageant, in 1994, the bikini round was cancelled in 1995. I had told the organisers even then that it wasn’t naturally comfortable for some of us to wear a bikini on the ramp.
“A lot of girls were from countries where the swimwear round was not necessary. Swimwear is not necessarily a natural way of life for everyone,” she replied.
Aishwarya said she did not have the perfect ‘beach body’ when she was crowned. “There were 87 other contestants, who had a better body (than me). Yet, I won the title.”
The actress will make her movie comeback in director Sanjay Gupta's Jazbaa. She has also signed Karan Johar’s next film, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.
She said several script writers and directors had met her during her sabbatical and she found six scripts exciting.
She is also very excited about Shamitabh that stars her father-in-law, Amitabh Bachchan.
“I know a lot more than what has been shown in the trailer. It is good to see how two talents, my pa (Amitabh Bachchan) and (director) R Balki have come together with a new idea. I am really looking forward to seeing this film,” she said.
Film producer arrested in Mumbai on charge of raping heroine
The actress has alleged that the producer after signing her for a film, hosted a party at his residence in Charkop near Kandivali. At the party, she alleged, he mixed an intoxicant in her drink, and then raped her.
According to the actress, the producer then promised to married her, and took her to Gorai, Manori, and Aksha beach on outings where he raped her again.
Deputy Commissioner of Police, Zone 11, Balsingh Rajput, said the producer has been arrested and a case of rape has been registered.
